Police hope to clear queues likely to take more than an hour by using the two lane working. It is hoped that the weight limit for commercial vehicles will not be in force for more than one hour at a time.
But the DTp warns that advance notice of the changes cannot be given. It advises the commercial vehicles should stay away from the bridge at peak periods.
These periods includ Monday to Thursday morning and evening commuter rush hours, Friday morning rush plus from midday to late evening and most of the weekends except the quieter periods on Sunday mornings.
