THE whole of the share capital of J. H.
Sparshatt and Sons (Southampton) Ltd., Leyland/Albion and Scammell distributors, has been acquired by Steels Garages Ltd., of Bristol.
The Leyland Motor Corporation has welcomed the merger and has given full consent to the retention of the franchise by the company.
Continuity of management is being assured as Mr. G. W. Sparshatt, managing director of Sparshatt and Sons, is to continue in that capacity. Two directors of Steels Garages, Mr. R. J. Jackson and Mr. P. G. Gollop, will join the board.
Steels Garages already operate a Leyland/ Albion and Scammell distributorship at Kingswood, Bristol, under the name of Steels Commercials (Bristol) Ltd.
