Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE arduous work involved in the removal or replacement of tractor and other heavy types of tyre is avoided by the use of equipment made available by Harvey Frost and Co., Ltd., Bishop's Stortford. The principle on which this tyre servicing apparatus is based is that of a lever having its fulcrum point in the centre of the wheel.

For -tyre removal, one end of the lever, which is specially shaped, is introduced between the wheel rim and the tyre bead,. and the operative merely walks round the wheel-mounting stand milling the lever end with him. In replacing a tyre, a 'roller is located and held at a certain point on the lever which is now pivoted on the central standard of the wheel mount.

the operative pulls the' lever round, so the roller induces the tyre bead to sink below the wheel rim. The accompanying illustrations clearly show how 'the equipment is used, both in removal and replacement.

Similar equipment is also available for the manipulation of the small-centre 900 by 13 tyre, as fitted to deep

well based rims. Operations, in all cases, can be assisted by soapy water.
