THE ONLY SURE way to gain your certificate of professional competence is to set aside a period of time in which to study the various subjects in the examination syllabus.

Some readers prefer to spread their studies over two or three months by using the popular RTCC home-study packs, which are available through Commercial Motor.

For those who are able to take two or three weeks away from work and prefer to concentrate their studies into a short period just before the examination, an intensive study course is now available at various locations.

In conjunction with E. P. Training Services, of Esher, Surrey, Commercial Motor is able to offer 10-day courses in Esher, Gloucester and Huddersfield to prepare for the Royal Society of Arts examinations to be held on Friday, February 25.

Course dates are: Gloucester: January 31 to February 4, and February 14 to 18.

Esher and Huddersfield: February 7 to 11 and February 21 to 25. Courses are arranged in two blocks of five days, Monday to Friday, with a week in between for revision and examination practice. The courses at Esher and Huddersfield culminate with the CPC examination on Friday morning (February 25).

Tuition from 9.00am to 5pm daily, is by experienced lecturers who have been engaged in CPC training since its inception and whose students have achieved a 98 per cent pass rate.

The courses have been approved by the Road Transport Industry Training Board. Companies in scope to the Training Board may be able to claim up to 10 points per day for management training towards grant claims. Residential hotel accommodation is available at each venue, at an additional cost, for students who are unable to travel daily. The fee for each course is £'320 plus vat. A deposit of £100 is required on application and the balance will be invoiced before the course commences.

Applications must be received by February 1 at the latest to enable students to be enrolled for the February examination.
