Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A range of metric weighbridges, designed to replace the existing Imperial platform sizes, is to be marketed by Ashworth Ross and Co Ltd, manufacturer of industrial scales and weighbridges. The range is of all-steel welded construction and has been evolved specifically to handle heavier types of road vehicle. The basic design concept was originally developed by Ashworth Ross for the weighing of dump trucks and other off-highway vehicles where operating conditions involved a high degree of shock loading.

The increased sectional strength of these weighbridges will cater adequately for the higher axle loadings that may be allowed in future, maximum capacities having been increased to 50 or 60 tonnes. With a strength rating of this order and platform sizes up to 20m by 3m there is now a standard Ashworth Ross metric weighbridge for even the largest vehicle-trailer combination.

Several types of indicator are available but it is anticipated that most customers will specify the weigh printer which provides a printed record of weight and other data on ticket and tally roll. There is also a built-in facility for a computer link and for the operation of a data collection System.
