Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A new edition of -Guide to Arc Welding Electrodes and Consumables" has been announced

by the British Electrical and Allied Manufacturers' Association. The Guide was first published in 1944 and the latest edition (the seventh) gives details of a wider range of arc welding consumable products than any of the preceding issues.

Past issues have dealt exclusively with information intended to help consumers choose the correct manual arc electrodes for welding all grades of steel, non-ferrous metals, cast iron, corrosion and creepresistant steels and for hard surfacing. Similar information is provided in the new edition on the availability of consumables used in other established arc-welding processes, such as TIG. MIG and submerged arc.

The Guide also includes brief descriptions of th-e British classification and coding of electrodes, published by the British Standards institution as BS 1719 Part 1 1963, and of the American method of classifying electrodes.

Classified lists of electrodes provide information on the approvals carried by each product and also, where applicable, the British Code number and the nearest equivalent American coding.
