• Following last week's announcement that the National Guild of Transport Managers had asked the Minister for Transport Industries to introduce statutory registration of transport managers, the Transport Managers' Licensing Committee announces this week that it has submitted new proposals to Mr Peyton. The TML Committee is proposing a voluntary scheme of registration and is asking the Minister to defer the introduction of any compulsory system.
It is understood that the scheme requires financial support and that the Minister has been invited to consider supplying this support. A spokesman for the TMLC was unable to tell CM what the financial implicontinued on page 17
