Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FOLLOWING the pattern at all the recent European vehicle exhibitions, the most significant trend for new models at the Brussels Motor Show which opened today is the fitting of higher-powered engines than previously. Examples are the Krupp SF 1080 which has a Cummins V8 engine, the first time the V8 has been used by the concern, and the Magirus 235D six-wheelers which have a Deutz VIO air-cooled power unit.

Besides Krupp and Klockner-Humboli-Deutz, other German manufacturers with new vehicles include Daimler-Benz with the L306 3-tonner which has a cab similar in design to the LPS 1620 seen at the London Commercial Show, Henschel with new fourand six-wheelers and Hanomag with a new 2-ton chassis.

British manufacturers are well represented at Brussels. Interesting news here is that the relatively recent partnership between Rootes and Henschel will soon be severed; since Henschel last year joined the Rheinstahl group of which Hanomag is a member. Rootes models are duplicated. Commer and ICarrier chassis are, therefore, seen once again on their own stand. A.E.C. is showing goods chassis with attractive locally built cabs and Leyland, showing with its Belgium associates Brossel Freres, features a number of models. Most interesting is a new rear-engincil single-deck passenger chassis designed by Brossel using Leyland units.

The Daimler Roadliner single-decker gets a new identity at Brussels, it being shown as the Guy Conquest.

A new goods chassis and the production version of a passenger chassis introduced as a prototype at Amsterdam last year, are shown by DAF, the Brussels Show being of particular interest to this concern as it is also to Scania-Vabis and Volvo. The former has extended its range of models downwards in weight rating with the L35 7to 8-tonner which has a four-cylinder diesel engine, and Volvo introduces a six-wheeler with forward-control cab, this being the first time a model combining these two features has been offered by the concern.
