Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Editor, THE COMMERCIAL MOTOR. .

[2716] Sir,—In your issue of the 25th ult. you refer to the multi-storey garage, stating that a Mr. Francis O. .Marchant had patented the idea of a hinged ramp. You may be interested to know that we have a hinged ramp at our used-car depot, Drake Circus, Plymouth, which we designed anti built about five years This is operated by gearing consisting of twin screws rotated' by .worm wheels attached to a shaft, which in tiint is connected to a small crank.

It Is only a matter of minutes to raise or lower the floor and we find it quite satisfactory for this purpose, RS the 'differenee -in the levels to be negotiated is only about 4 ft,

We question its suitability, however, for an ordinary. ga rage.--Yours_faithfully, For W. Murnford, Ltd.,

W. MUMFOED, Managing Director.
