Italian job
• Euroshell's VAT recovery service, designed to speed up repayment of VAT levied on overseas fuel, has been extended to include service station transactions in Italy. On average transactions in Italy take two years to reclaim but with Euroshell customers are said to have the VAT credited in 14 days. The Euroshell card gives customers access to more than 17,000 service stations in 33 European countries.

Costs monitor
• A software package designed to help fleet managers monitor and reduce operating costs has been introduced by Fleetway Fleet Systems. The tailormade Freeway system runs on PCs and is best suited to small and medium-sized operators but it can also be adapted for large fleets.
