• Plans by the NFC and British Rail to develop a huge goods yard site near Kings Cross station are under threat from St Bartholomew's Hospital, which owned the land before it was compulsorily purchased under the terms of the 1846 Great Northern Railway Company Act. Now the hospital claims that under the Act it has the right to buy back the land at 1850s prices — 261,775 for 2411a.
