bus battle ends
• Stagecoach subsidiary East Midland has ended its sixmonth bus battle with independent Maun International Travel by buying half of MIT's bus business.
Matins former owner, Alan Reed, will stay on as managing director of the bus company, which will operate under the Maim Buses banner; he and co-director Ken Williams will be joined by two East Midland directors.
Maun Buses runs commercial and tendered services based around Mansfield, Notts, with a fleet of 21 buses, 16 of which are on regular services. East Midland will provide Maun with engineering and adminstrative support and plans to expand the Maim operation.
