Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Wilcox Engineering group, which includes such wellknown names as EM Wilcox, Seadyke Freight Systems and Bulkerpart, has been sold to a management buy-in team for £10 million.

The purchasing group is led by ex-Blue Circle director Malcolm Llewellyn and James Longley, formerly with Touche Ross which arranged the financing of the deal.

Wilcox, which manufactures to Lloyd Register Quality Assurance and BS 5750, was owned by Hypromel Products, a privately-owned East Midlands group built up over the past 20 years by its founder Bill Pridmore.

The Wilcox Group of 10 companies operates from nine UK sites ranging from Inverness to Ilminster, but its main production plants are at Glasgow, Market Deeping Peterborough and Wisbech.

Among the other companies included in the deal arc CMC Bodies, Teamport, Pneubulk Vehicles, Dunnspencer Bulkflo and Wilcox Leasing.

Wilcox takes a major share of the aluminium-based blower and tipper body sector, and has recently begun developing sales interests in France and Portugal.
