• Eire-based general haulier O'Reilly Transport plans to expand its cross-Channel operations by acquiring a transport company in Lancashire.
The 20-year-old company already has a UK freight forwarding subsidiary, Freight Centre UK, and plans to acquire the Lancashire site within six months. About 15 vehicles will be based there, to handle cross-Channel rather than domestic business.
The Irish end of the operation is also being expanded.
