AUDI VOLKSWAGEN has transferred the import of most of its motor spares from road to rail.
An indefinite contract has just been signed by Audi VW and British Rail's Rai!freight to move spares from West Germany to the UK by rail. The contract was awarded to Railfreight partly on the strength of another contract between the German car maker and haulage and storage company Transport and Warehousing Facilities. TWF is based at Wolverton, near Milton Keynes where Audi VW has its parts warehouse.
