MR. A. P. WICKENS, deputy chief engineer at the Fighting Vehicles Design Establishment, has been appointed chief engineer, armament design, Ministry of Supply.
JAR. W. G. ALLEN, chairman of Atkinson Lorries (1933), Ltd., and MR. B. F. CAut.rr, managing director, have returned from a brief visit to the Continent, during which they visited the Brussels Show and met various Atkinson operators and distributors for Belgium and Holland.
LLICor..,. R. S. GOODIIIND, MR. .1, if. G1BB, MR.. H. SHILLETO and Cwt. N. B1SBY have been appointed to the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for the Yorkshire area. Lt.-Col. Goodhind is transport manager of Newton Chambers and Co., Ltd., and Mr. Gibb is transport controller of British Oil and Cake Mills, Ltd., and the Olympia Oil and Cake Co., Ltd. Mr. Gibb is also a member of the transport committee of the Association of British Chambers of Commerce and chairman of the Humberside section of the Institute of Transport.

DR. H. RoxnE.E. Cox, B.Sc. (Eng.), M.I.Mecti.E., has been awarded the James Clayton prize for 1951 by the Institution of Mechanical'Engineers for his contributions to engineering science, particularly in the fields of aeronautics, power generation and fuel utilization.
