8-14 December). • What a load of rubbish Chancellor Kenneth Clarke keeps coming out with. He says his budget will help industry and create jobs. But the budget will help hauliers to the bankruptcy court and swell the jobless total. Can anyone get it across to the Chancellor that increasing fuel tax eventually hits everyone in the country as haulage charges will have to go up.

Hauliers of our country are having to shoulder everincreasing costs because of Government policy Where are the trade associations? Is it not time that the haulage industry got together and created a more aggressive trade association to stand up for the rights of the industry?

Hauliers you have the strength and the means to fight these unjustified fuel increases. Consider it now while you have a haulage business left to consider. Eric Swindells, Retired haulier.
