• Axial, formerly Silcock Express and Toleman,have retained only the southern half of a Volkswagen vehicle handling and delivery deal by VAG UK starting on 1 January. The company will handle more than 60,000 cars a year. See page 8.
• UK Waste Management is spending just under half a million pounds on replacement vehicles for its fiveyear domestic waste collection and street cleaning contract in Burnley.
• BRS has extended its contract hire deal with Perimax Meats (Scotland) by three tractor units and four refrigerated trailers for its processing factory in Somerset. Both sides have just signed a three-year £1.5million contract.
• Taylor Barnard has beaten seven other tenders to renew its £3m-a-year contract to deliver bacon from Danepack's factory in Thetford, Norfolk. The contract includes work for Danepack's Wellingborough-based parent Tulip International.
