• The Transport Tribunal is set to review the granting of Operator Licences to two exprisoners after the Road Haulage Association last week lodged an appeal against the move.
RHA northern regional director Geoff Dunning says the North Western Licensing Authority should have taken into account the criminal records of Penrith-based Bulman's Transport and Bulman's Bulk and Haulage's principal directors, Peter Housby and David Brown.
At the time of the grant in November, LA Martin Albu said the two men's tachograph convictions and their May 1993 year-long prison sentences should no longer count against them.
