THE MOTOR industry, led by Ray Horrocks, BL's group chief executive (cars), is lending its weight to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children's campaign to raise £12m this year. Fourteen manufacturers have each given a car as a prize in competitions to be run by three national newspaper groups publishing eight daily and Sunday comics.
Among the highly desirable properties to be won are a Porsche 944 Lux and a Jaguar. For those with more modest ambitions there is an Austin Metro Vanden Plas.
There are compensations even for consuming mush.
