• Fodens Ltd increased pretax group profit to £620,000 for the 28 weeks ended October 14 1972 from a turnover of £8,828,000; comparable figures in 1971 were £560,000 and £6,872,000. For the full year 1971/2 the trading profit amounted to £752,243. "In spite of serious national economic problems your directors," says the interim report, "are more confident of the future now than at any time during the past two years."
