DR. RAO, Minister for Transport and Shipping, in India, says that early steps must be taken to review the system of control and regulation of road transport in India. Dr. Rao said that the advantages of road transport deserved to be further strengthened by the abolition of "artificial barriers". Restrictive rules should be modified or eliminated.
He said that in a developing country like India, the Motor Vehicles Act and the rules thereunder should be based on practical considerations of the users' "preference". Who'll swop a Rao for a Castle?
