Attendance continues to fall at licensing's road/rail negotiating committee meetings. Over an eight-week period, up to last month, attendance averaged 78 per cent, compared with a 1966 average of 83 p.c. Attendances are lowest in the RHA North Western (Eastern and Western) areas.
• SINCE January 1, 1948, the Railways have made 173 appeals to the Minister of Transport against the grant of road service licences, or against conditions attached to licences by the Traffic Commissioners—Parliamentary answer by Mr. Stephen Swingler, Minister of State for Transport.
