• Nine trucks were set ablaze at two Lancashire-based meat firms last weekend in what is believed to be the latest of a series of arson attacks by animal rights fanatics.
The victims, Great Harwood Food Products and wholesale butcher Geoff Barnes, both based near Blackburn, reckon the damage to their trucks will cost more than £100,000 to repair.
GHFP, which had incendiary devices thrown into six of its truck cabs, says nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack which took place at 23:00hrs on 18 August.
