• Collingbourne Contractors (Cwmbran) admitted failing to tax two vehicles because of cashflow problems at a Cardiff public inquiry before South Wales Licensing Authority John Mervyn Pugh,
For the company, which held a licence for 10 vehicles, Jonathan Lawton said all the back tax and penalties had been paid and the vehicles were now properly taxed to date.
Mervyn Pugh cut the duration of the licence so that it expires at the end of August 1992 instead of January 1995, and warned the company against using vehicles without paying VED. He said it was tempting in times of recession but if there were further tax offences he would revoke the licence.
