• A question mark over the adequacy of the parking arrangements for car transporters operated by Dundee-based Richard Lawson in Goole and Hartlepool has led to the number of vehicles on its North Eastern area licence being restricted.
The company, which had held a licence in the North-East for 41 vehicles and trailers, initially applied for renewal for 60 vehicles and trailers, with 30 vehicles and trailers to be kept at Anderson Road, Goole, and 30 vehicles and trailers at Belle Vue Way, Hartlepool.
Group fleet manager Allan Bain told North Eastern Deputy
al
Licensing Authority Anthony Richardson, that because of the recession and parking problems at Goole, it was proposed to base only 15 vehicles and trailers at Anderson Road.
Arrangements had been made for the vehicles and trailers at Hartlepool to be parked in the dock area. Richardson said that was illegal, as the company had no licence authority.
Renewing the licence in re spect of 15 vehicles and trailers at Goole and 16 vehicles and trailers at Belle Vue Way, Hartlepool, Richardson advised the company to seek authority immediately to use the docks.
