Northern England
Resurfacing is in operation on the northbound carriageway at hforth, North Yorkshire, where one lane is open.

VI6: The northbound carriageway between a point just north of 3 Charnock Richard service area and Bamber Bridge will mean ly a single lane closure until August 27. The main work will start September 2 and will go on until October 5. A contraflow system II be in operation. From September 28 until work is finished, the ,rthbound slip road at junction 29 (Bamber Bridge), will be closed. M18: Until November, the northbound carriageway is closed for 5 miles between junctions 5 and 6. Slight delays are possible. M621: The slow lane of the westbound carriageway is being renstructed for 3.5 miles between the M62 and 46110.
M62: Until October, the westbound carriageway is closed for 4.5 iles between junction 35 (M18) and 34.
M62: Repair work on the slow and middle lanes between junctions
• and 17, north Manchester, started on .August 7. A contraflow 'stem will operate and traffic will be diverted from time to time til mid-October.
Greasborough, South Yorkshire: Gas main renewal in Main Street ill disrupt traffic until the end of October, and will close the road to rough traffic between Coach Road and Church Street. There is a version for local traffic, but through traffic should use Haugh Road t Nether Haugh), Rawmarsh, then the 4633 to Rotherham.
Macclesfield: Oxford Road is closed for several months from ugust. Congestion will occur in the vicinity as this road carries 'rough traffic to the 4536 and A537. An alternative route is via Ivy me and Ivy Road.
Midlands
A5: Temporary signals are in use at Copthorne, near Shrewsbury Id at West Felton, between Shrewsbury and Gobowen.
A45: There will be single-lane, alternate-way working at Flore, orthamptonshire (between M1 junction 16 and the AS at Weedon) itil the end of August. Delays are expected at all times.
A47: There are delays at times at Cromwell Road, Wisbech.
M1: Between Junctions 13 and 12 night time work will reduce the )uthbound carriageway to one lane.
Ml: Between Newport Pagnell Services and junction 15 only two mes will be open on each carriageway.
Ml: Due to major reconstruction between junction 13 and 14 the orthbound carriageway is closed, and all traffic is using the southound carriageway until mid-September. M1: There are lane closures for four miles on both carriageway between junction 15 and 18 until mid-October.
Ml: Between junctions 18 and 19, part of the northbound carriage way is being reconstructed for about half a mile. There is two-wa traffic southbound, and severe delays are expected at peak hours.
Ml: Until late September, there will be two-way traffic south bound between junctions 29 and 30 for about 2.5 miles.
M6: One carriageway is in use between junction 9 (Wednesbur and 11 (Wolverhampton).

M11: Between junction 9 and 8 the southbound carriageway reduced to one lane for 1.5 miles.
M11: There will be lane closures between junctions 5 and 8. M54: Between junctions 5 and 6 the westbound carriageway reduced to one lane for 0.5 miles because of repairs to bridge joints.
South-east England
Ml: Between junctions 8 and 5 there will be various night-tim• lane closures (8pm to 6am weekdays and lOpm to 8am Saturday).
M3: The coastbound carriageway is closed between junction (Guildford) and 4 (Camberley) wit:: i December.
M4: The following sections will be closed from 9pm to 6am eac week on Mondays to Fridays. Between junctions 1 (Chiswick rounc about) and 3 (Parkway), and the westand eastbound slip road between the A4 and Chiswick roundabout.
M25: The new section between All to the A10 does not hay south-east motorway status yet, and drivers of vehicles over 1.5 ton unladen should not exceed 40mph. This section, and the A111 t South Mimms section, should have motorway status by September Al: Delays are likely at Highgate Hill on the Archway Road IDE cause of roadworks near Alma Raod.
Al2: There are major roadworks at Kelsale, between Lowesto and Ipswich.
A41: Only one lane is in use at Watford Way, Hendon, at a intersection with Hendon Way. Work starts at 7.30 am daily.
Blackwell Tunnel: This is closed northbound between 8pm ar 5am. All traffic uses the southbound tunnel.
Wales and the West
A4: Delays are likely at peak periods at Hotwell Road, Bristol ar London Road West, Bath.
A458: Delays are possible at Mallwyd, west of Welshpool.
A477: There is only one lane open in each direction on the Carme then/Pembroke Road at Amroth and Kilgetty.
A487: Roadworks are in operation 24 hours a day at Llanfaria three miles south of Aberystwyth.
M5: There are numerous lane closures on both carriagewa' between junction 17 (Bristol West) and 27 (A373 Tiverton).
France
Because of holiday traffic congestion, the French authorities ha. banned goods vehicles exceeding six tonnes gross on certain roal from 8am to lOpm on Saturday August 29.
The roues are: RN 6, from Anse to Lyon; RN 7, Nemours to Lyr and Vienne to Menton; RN 9, Riversaltes to Perthus; RN 10, Chartr to Hendaya; RN 13, Bonnieres to Bayeux; RN 20, Arpajon to G solles (RN 113); RN 23, Chartres to Nantes; RN 90, Pont Royal Bourg St Maurice; RN 96, from RN 7 (le Cannet) to the RN 560 (Pc de Joux); RN 113, Beziers to CD 610; RN 203, from RN 201 (Pont Brogny) to Bonneville; and two more: Route Bourg, Pont d'A Nantua, Annemasse (RN 75, 84, 206); Route Annemasse Chamor (RN 205).
