Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Massive double-acting hydraulic rams connecting to the central spring anchorage are features of the Mk. 11 Pengco Lodamatic detachable body system. Platform heights in the range 3ft Win. to 4ft 6in. can be negotiated.

• A Mark II version of the Pengco Lodamatic detachable body system will be introduced by Peterborough Engineering Co. Ltd., at the International Container exhibition at Earls Court, London, September 22-26.

In contrast to the Mk I version, which achieves body lift by a pair of single-acting hydraulic rams acting vertically against anchorage fittings on the rear axle, the Mk II system employs double-acting rams actuating a bell crank and link fitting coupled to the rear spring anchorage.

This patented system, first demonstrated at Frankfurt three years ago (but not. it is understood, exploited on any scale in Germany), makes the Lodamatic equipment much more flexible in use, for up to Bin, variation in body clearance from chassis is possible. Platform heights in the range 3ft 10in. to 4ft 6in. can now be negotiated.

At a special demonstration forCM last week the detached body, parked on uneven, sloping ground some inches lower than the level concrete, was coupled up without difficulty.
