9r0 consider questions concerning 1 workers' transport, a consultative committee, covering Leeds, Bradford and certain districts adjoining those cities, has been set up by the Trani' port Commissioner for the Northeastern Region (Major F. S. Eastwood). The committee, which includes representatives of employers of labour, trade uttions and transport, held its first meeting last week.
It is understood that suggestions for the staggering of factory hours so as to relieve peak-hour pressure on transport services were discussed.
A similar committee has done excellent work at Sheffield, where the staggering of working hours has been in operation for about six months.
