SCOTTISH ORGANIZATIONS REACH AGREEMENT

THE agreement between the Trans. port and General 'Workers' Union and the Scottish Horse and Motormen's Association was signed on August 14. The basic principle is that the Transport and General Workers' Union will be regarded as the organization for road_ passenger service employees, and the Horse and Motormen's Association will concentrate on employees engaged in goods transpOrt. There are several excepted areas, such as Dundee. Angus, the Island of Lewis, and the Borders, where the Transport and General Workers' Unionhas had' many goods employees in its membership for several years. Fraserburgh, Greenock, Gourock, Port Glasgow and Dumfries are open towns for both organizations. The agreement provides for goodwill relaxations affecting more than 80,000 employees of both passenger and goods transport services. There will be no
