LONDON haulier and distributor N. Francis and Co Ltd which last year moved its depot to Kentish Town and took over Arrow Service Ltd, has taken over Hanson Haulage Ltd.

Trading as N. Francis and Co Ltd, it will now have 100 vehicles covering Greater London.

Flying start

SWEDISH Flyer is a new Giltspur Air Freight Service operating between Malmo and Southend, and said to be 72 per cent of the cost of a full airfreight service.

The new service is based on a special clearance given by the Customs and Excise and the airport commander, Anthony Cusworth, for two trailers a week to be imported. The company is hoping for more clearances as the service progresses.

Renfrew Express

GLASGOW PTE has started a new express bus service between the Renfrew community and the Glasgow City centre using the M8 motorway to take passengers to the Anderston Cross bus station.

The 25 minute journey will cost 42p and is aimed at commuters and Saturday shoppers. The service will pick up passengers at Linwood terminus, shopping centre and Chrysler car factory before going non-stop to Anderston. The new service has been developed by Greater Glasgow PTE but will be operated by Graham's Bus Services and Western SMT Ltd.
