Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

great advantages of carrying live cattle and sheep by road is that they arrive in excellent condition, for they are always under supervision and the time of travel is short. How different this can be when rail transport is used is shown by a ease in which some 40 sheep were consigned in one truck from a Government distributing centre in Norfolk to a slaughterhouse in Brighton. On their arrival it was found that three had died and others were so injured bit trampling that they had to be shot. A sanitary inspector certified seven of the nine carcases as unfit for human consumption. An inspection was also made by an official of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and it is understood that Brighton Corporation may take legal proceedings against the British Railway Execative, Southern Region.
