ONMaY 3 the Brighton Corporation (Transport) Bill will be considered before a Select Committee of the House of Commons, presided over by Sir David Reid.
-NORTHERN GENERAL" TRAFFIC INCREASE
AN increase in traffic receipts of £68,563 over the figure for 1936 was mentioned by Mr. R. J. Howley, C.B.E., chairman, at the 24th ordinary general meeting of the Northern General Transport Co., Ltd., last week. The amount paid out in vehicle, fuel and income tax, he said, for the first time exceeded £100,000.
Mr. Howley hinted, incidentally. that transport employees in the Newcastle area may have their working hours staggered.
