• Cardiff general haulage firm Glyn John Transport has closed, with the loss of 26 jobs. The decision was taken because it was making heavy losses, says transport manager Howard Jones. Measures to improve profitability, including putting up the rates, had not worked.
ARS Transport of Hereford and Evans Transport of Ebbw Vale are owned by former Glyn John directors. These two companies will continue trading "at the moment", says Jones.
