• Trailer operator B&I Line says the trailer freight service agreement with Pandoro which has operated from Fleetwood to Liverpool since 1988 is to terminated by mutual agreement from 1 May.
Rate cuts of up to 37% on Irish-Welsh passenger ferry routes announced last week by Steno Sealink could give operators a lever to negotiate more favourable freight rates. Steno says the cuts are "as a result of market forces", and while freight rates are not published, operators who negotiate their own rates could use these cuts as hard bargaining tools.
