Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Leyland Bus is exhibiting a Northern Counties-bodied Olympian at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week in a move to promote the doubledecker concept overseas (CM 20-26 July).

The vehicle is one of nine ordered by Pan Atlas Leisure to be operated under contract to London Regional Transport.

Powered by a Cummins LT10 B180 10-litre engine with ZF four-speed automatic gearbox, it has features to aid the elderly and disabled; with bus seating on the lower deck and coach seating upstairs.

Leyland Bus sales and marketing director Owen Quinn says that though high-capacity double-deck vehicles combat congestion and meet environmental needs, they are still rej:ted in some markets.

LJ An Optare Delta-bodied Daf SB220 single-decker with 37 Vogel seats and space for 39 standing was also on show. This was the only vehicle at the show with the Alusuisse body construction system.
