• Rockfield Contracts has won a £2.3 million tender from Tamworth Borough Council, West Midlands, in the face of competition from several other companies — including the council's own workforce.
Rockfield will buy the council's, fleet, which includes 107 vehicles, and lease it back to Tamworth. It will renew and update the vehicles as part of the deal.
Rockfield will also run the council's workshop facilities, taking on its present staff.
