• Times are certainly hard. With interest rates hovering close to the clouds, it's going to be difficult for any operator, big or small, to think about replacing vehicles — never mind financing a full-blown fleet replacement programme. And with money getting ever tighter, the chances are that the new trailer you were thinking of has gone right out of the window because the money's needed for a new tractor. So what can you do?

Commercial Motor, along with York and United Rentals, has the answer — at least for a year. We're offering a brand new 12.5-metre tri-axle York curtainsider, complete with air suspension and anti-lock braking equipment, free for 12 months. And that's not all. While it's running in your fleet, York will pay for its insurance and provide full servicing, free of charge, under its comprehensive Transplan contract-maintenance scheme.

To win the CM/York/United Rentals trailer for a year all you have to do is answer the five questions below correctly, and complete the tie-breaker. You'll find the answers hidden in the pages of the Highway Code so get cracking — but be sure to read the rules before putting pen to paper. The closing date for the competition is 13 October.
