• Responsibility for the death of 79 beagle pups which suffocated in a Monock Freightowned container on board a ferry may depend on who a court decides is the carrier.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, which has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident, says legal advice is being sought.
Feltham-based Monock says last week's trip is the "first and last time such a movement by road to Europe will be undertaken by this company."
