To ensure that they were not caught out by a last minute rush for old models, Ford has already added an extra 3,000 units to its final close-out production run, although nearly all these models have been ordered against jobs and pre-sold.
The actual switch from building the old Transit to the new model is expected to take place over a two-to-three day period at Southampton later this year with production of new models beginning gradually:
