CARLYLE WORKS, the engineering company within the National Bus Company's Midland Red group, has been made Van Hool's main service and parts agent for Great Britain with effect from October 31.
Carlyle Works will be established as a central parts location for both slow and fast moving body and mechanical parts for the full range of Van Hool bodies and complete integral coaches.
It will also supply parts to the Van Hool dealer network from a new central parts warehouse in Birmingham.
Van Hoc)] says the new arrangement will improve its service back-up and answer criticism about its spare parts supply.
Carlyle will also improve service to the operators of foreign registered coaches visiting Britain.
Carlyle Works is being allowed to make decisions on and carry out warranty work which previously had to he authorised from Belgium.
It has facilities to offer a full service operation including. unit reconditioning, component overhaul, body repair and conversion and operates a 24-hour breakdown and recovery service.
