Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

You are no doubt aware of our continuing use of your "Autol-Desolite" Diesel Fuel Additive, and we now feel that after nearly a year's use of this product our confidence in it has been justified.

During this period, we have had no trouble at all with injectors and from every appearance the intervals between top overhauls are going to be greatly prolonged. Most of our diesel engined lorries are too new to be able to get a comparison with pre"Autol-Desolite" operation; one however, an old 1954 Albion Chieftain, is now operating at 17.5 m.p.g. which compares with a previous best of 17 m.p.g. It has run its last 60,000 miles without even an injector change being necessary.

Our current E.R.F. lorries with 5 cylinder Gardner Engines are running at an all up weight of 14 tons on a fuel consumption which works out at an average of 15.5 m.p.g. —this, we consider to be very good, as in our ease, it includes stationary running when the sack loaders are in use.

As well as these satisfactory figures of operation, we are quite confident that the use of "Autol-Desolite" will prolong the operating life of the injection pumps, by the protection it gives against corrosion, and the improvement in lubrication of the moving parts. Mr. A. Hickerton (Engineer), H. R. & S. Sainsbury Ltd., Trowbridge, Wilts.
