Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TH need to attract young people to coach tours to Scotland was stressed by Mr. James Amos, chairman of Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., at the annual conference of operators and caterers, arranged by the Scottish Tourist Board, in Edinburgh, last week.

Mr. Arnos.said that too many of the patrons were middle-aged or elderly people. Entertainments, particularly in the evenings, and cultural and sporting events, must be worked in to attract younger tourists if the traffic was to br..! maintained and expanded.

In pleading for better roads with more lay-bys. Mr. Amos said he was not ,satisfied that local authorities were doing all they could to provide them. In particular, he stressed the need for better facilities for traffic to Skye.

Despite bad weather, and the continuing limitation of accommodation, between 70,000 and 80,000 passengers were carried on extended tours into Scotland each week throughout the past season.

One coach operator had decided to combat the shortage of hotel accom modation by building his own hotel in Ob61 and operators were urged to get together to erect other. hotels. It was estimated that the cost of a single-storey hotel would be £10,000.
