engine, known as the Mark II, is introduced today by F. Perkins, Ltd. It may be seen at the Commercial Motor Show on Stand 438QR.

The automatic chain tensioner assembly has a new triple-toothed pawl and is fed with a greater oil supply. Oilpump output is greater,. a Vokes 7-in. element is now fitted and the by-pass valve relief setting is higher.

The crankshaft is balanced with weights on the webs, and the rockershaft assembly support brackets are exceptionally sturdy. These are located by grub screws and there is a steel strongback on top of each bracket to prevent screws from working loose.

The timing-case cover has a deeper recess to accommodate the modifiedtensioner. Grooves cut in the case direct an ample oil flow from the camshaft aperture. The tensioner pad is of moulded plastics, and has been made longer.
