Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE future of collective bargaining in road haulage was at stake in the case between the National Joint Industrial Council and T. and J. Kidner, Ltd., Brampton, Beccles, which the Industrial Disputes Tribunal heard in London on Wednesday. The question was whether the company should honour an agreement on increased pay which the N.J.I.C. reached as from February 21 last year.

The case of Mr. J. R. Adams, St. Thomas' Garage, Back Union Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, to have been heard on September 11, was postponed. The dispute with Kidner, declared by the workers' side of the N.J.1.C. with the support of the Road Haulage Association, is being used as a test case.

It is understood that some of the hauliers who were in dispute have now granted the back pay under the N.J.LC agreement.
