DK Teasdale & Son collapsed owing creditors £500,000-plus
DONCASTER HEAVY haulier DK Teesdale & Son owed creditors £504,772 when it ceased trading, according to the statement of affairs filed at Companies House.
The 46-year-old Bawtry, South Yorksbased firm appointed Andrew Clay and David Homer of Begbies Traynor as joint liquidators of the business on 4 October.
The statement of affairs shows the firm owed creditors £504,772, including: trade and expense creditors £144,039; employees £65,000; and HM Revenue & Customs £162,152. The company leaves a total deficiency of £614,676.
'The failure of the business, which resulted in 10 redundancies, was mainly due to a downturn in trade due to the current economic climate, and increased operating costs,' a spokesman for Begbies Traynor says.
DK Teesdale, with an 0-licence for 20 vehicles and 30 trailers, was one of three haulage firms to enter liquidation that day. The other casualties were Stockport, Greater Manchester-based PLM Transport Services, and Warrington, Cheshire-based ALT Transport.
