Commission is to review operator licensing legislation in an attempt to achieve greater harmonisation of 0licence conditions between member states.
The review will concentrate on the financial standing requirement and the conditions for obtaining a Certificate of Professional Competence.
The Commission says there are differences in the minimum amount of money required to obtain a licence. Countries with less stringent requirements are more attractive to newly established firms at the expense of those which apply strict conditions, it says.
