Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QPEAK1NG last week at a meeting of Li York sub-area of the Road Haulage Association, Mr. Arthur Good, a chartered civil engineer and an executive member of the Railway Conversion League, gave four reasons why Britain's railway system should be converted into roads.

These were: 1, this country needed a prompt, flexible transport System and the railways could not supply it; 2, the traffic problem was getting progressively worse and the converted rail tracks would alleviate the congestion-, 3, the cost of modernizing the railways was costing the taxpayers far too much money and there was little chance of the country getting it back; and, 4, the new roads which were being built were cutting across valuable land.

It was also estimated that 27,000 47-seater coaches (half-full) and 108,000 10-ton lorries could handle all the passengers and goods carried by the railways.

THE retail cost of anti-freeze comrtound produced by Boots the Chemists has been reduced. by approximately 10 per cent.
