Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE RHA has rejected requests to approve a national common standard for the management of work-related road risk for LGVs in the construction sector.

The document has been endorsed by the Mineral Products Association and some of its leading members, Crossrail, Transport for London and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

The RHA has responded that the document is ill-judged, potentially damaging to the road haulage industry and disingenuous in its claim to have been the result of collaboration with industry associations. The document relates to all LGVs used on construction projects, not only tippers, and is likely to be published shortly.

TRANSPORT minister Robert Goodwill has ruled out changing the law to require truck operators to use sat-nay software that excludes details of weightrestricted roads. Goodwill made the comments in reply to a Parliamentary Question, and went on to say that he intended to encourage trade associations, local councils and sat-nay companies to work together to ensure truck drivers had the best available information on weight restrictions.

THE FREIGHT Transport Association's Transport Manager Conference will take place in Belfast on 27 March 2014. Sessions will cover DVA enforcement procedures, securing loads, the HGV UK road user levy, and cyclist safety.
