• The Channel Tunnel chaos is adding to British truck drivers suffering this week as French drivers' unions have blockaded roads across France.
On Monday (21 November) roadblocks appeared on major routes, manned by union representatives protesting about poor conditions and the proposed withdrawal of a 55 retirement age of for truck drivers.
Cars were let through but truck drivers were stopped, with the help of local police. The worst affected areas included Bordeaux, Toulouse, Caen, Clermont-Ferrand and Rennes.
Among those caught up in the chaos was Lancs-based owner-driver Michael Denson who was en-route to Spain with a load of toys. He was held up for most of the day before making a break for it with a couple of other British drivers through the car lane.
